Aotearoa Sacred Journey

This Ancient Mysteries Journey co-facilitated by Gary Cook and Helen Barnes is a chance to immerse ourselves in the powerful energies of our sacred land, called Aotearoa.  Visiting the Kaimanawa Wall, Lake Rotopounamu, the Redwood Forest and Kerosene Creek (Rotorua), Pureora Forest and Te Miringa Te Kakara (Temple of the Four Winds) this journey offers an opportunity to connect with the ancestors and delve deeper into the mysteries of this wondrous land.  We will be based in Taupo staying at Tauhara Retreat Centre.

Fri 4 Mar
This morning you will make your way to Taupo. We suggest carpooling to share the financial and environmental costs. Arrival to Tauhara is by 12.30pm, and once all gathered we will unite as ‘one’ for our special journey together. After this we will have lunch in town and then drive convoy style out to the Kaimanawa Wall, one of our most mysterious sacred sites. Here both Gary and Helen will facilitate some activities and you will have plenty of time to feel the energies of this powerful site. We will return to Tauhara for dinner and overnight.

Sat 5 Mar
After breakfast we will head south (travelling convoy style) to Lake Rotopounamu, a jewel of an emerald lake. Sacred Lake Rotopounamu is the sacred water wheel of everlasting love and is one of Mother Earth’s element chakras. Known locally as the Emerald Lake its green colour is symbolic of the heart chakra. Here we will immerse ourselves in the energies and Helen and Gary will facilitate sacred ceremony. We return to Tauhara for dinner and overnight.

Sun 6 Mar
After breakfast we will travel (again in convoy) to Rotorua where we will visit the Redwood Forest and immerse ourselves in the energies of these amazing beings. We will hear the singing tones of the trees and Gary will expand our awareness of these sentient beings. Helen will channel messages from the elemental kingdom here. We will have a lunch stop in Rotorua before heading to Kerosene Creek for a soak in these magical waters, returning to Tauhara for dinner and overnight.

Mon 7 Mar
This morning we will depart Tauhara (in the cars we carpooled in) and head out to Pureora Forest where Gary has a special spot for us to experience the beautiful energies of the forest at their best. After a blissful time in the forest we will head north to Te Miringa te kakara where we will be welcomed onto the marae and honoured to deeply connect with this ancient and sacred Waitaha site. After sacred ceremony we will say our farewells and head home with overflowing hearts.
